One Day, One Trouble at Camp Nou

Nothing seems to be going right for Spanish side, Barcelona this year, as the club happens to be in some form of one day, one problem situation.

From having a rather mediocre performance this season which saw them fail to retain the La Liga title, giving arch rivals Real Madrid the chance to clinch it from under their nose, to rumors of a failing dressing room, all the way down to the uncertainties surrounding the future of midfield maestro and arguably one of the best footballer ever, Lionel Messi at the club.

And now a least expected show of rebellion from youngster, Arthur Melo who is on holiday in Brazil and refusing to return to the club.

He and the rest of team are expected to be back and set to undergo tests for Covid-19 this week following the bring which was given to the players by coach Quique Setien after their second place finish in La Liga and begin preparations  for the second leg of the last-16 tie against Napoli on August 8, but the Brazilian who moved to Camp Nou from Gremio in a €40 million (£35m/$47m) deal in 2018 and has made 72 appearances in all competitions, with 28 of those in 2019-20 has notified the club that he will not return.

The Brazil international will join Juventus this summer after a deal worth €72 million (£66m/$81m) plus up to €10m in bonuses was agreed in June, while Bosnia-Herzegovina international midfielder Miralem Pjanic will move in the opposite direction in a €60m (£55m/$67m) deal.

The midfielder has been warned he is in violation of his contract by the club, but he has maintained that he has no interest in representing Quique Setien’s team again.

Arthur’s decision to stay back in Brazil has attracted mixed reactions from Barcelona fans with some taking sides with him while others think he is in the wrong bearing in mind that his contract with the club runs till the end of the Champions League and he had promised earlier on to stay committed to the club till then.

Could things possibly get any worse for Barcelona at this point, especially with Vidal out injured?
