Paul Okoye and his Lawyer Reacts To Anita Okoye’s alleged Divorce Petition

Paul Okoye a.k.a Rudeboy of the defunct Psquare group and his wife, Anita Okoye have been making the headlines after their divorce papers leaked online.

The document allegedly petitioned by Anita states irreconcilable differences as the base for the dissolution of their marriage. She also demands that Paul be responsible for the general welfare of their three kids in the U.S, likewise a demand that Paul pays $15,000 (N7.8M) monthly as spousal support.

With the dust yet to settle on the reports of the couple’s impending divorce, the singer’s lawyer has denied having any knowledge of the recent development.

Paul Okoye’s lawyer, Somadina Eugene Okorie said he is yet to receive any official briefing about the reported break up, divorce petition or even the alleged spousal support and if the news of their split were real, he would have been briefed by now.

Speaking to ENigeria newspaper, Eugene said, “I don’t think this subject worth breaking a sweat on, since as I talk with you, I’m yet to receive a brief touching the news already in circulation.” If the story is real, I would have been briefed by now and this is devoid of sentiments”.

Punch also reported that they reached out to the singer, who showed no interest in entertaining the conversation and immediately hung up.

“You people should stop calling me about this shit”, Rudeboy slammed.

According to Punch, in the document, Paul Okoye was said to be at liberty to deny the claims in the petition, allege additional facts for the consideration of the court, submit to the court that it should dismiss any of the proceedings instituted by the petitioner, or file an answer to the petition.

It is also important to note that the one-page document which surfaced on the internet a few days ago, and seems to be a fragment of a larger paper work, shows the letterhead of the high court of the federal capital territory in Abuja. It was addressed to Paul Okoye by the court, showing his residential address as well.

Nonetheless, the document does not have the court’s endorsement on it. Also, the petition number and other aspects of it were blurred.The date the said document was made or filed could also not be ascertained as there was no such information on the surface of the document.

Anita and Paul have known each other for 17 years and have been married for 7 years with three beautiful kids. Although Anita states irreconcilable differences as the reason for their impending divorce, an Instagram blogger, Gistlovers earlier reported that Paul Okoye was caught having an affair with his maid amidst other allegations that has to do with domestic violence, infidelity and shortage of cash flow.

Although this is yet to be confirmed by the popular musician, all indications point to the fact that their marriage is over after the irreconcilable differences that has lingered for a while now.
