PDP BOT Calls for Support for Atiku

The Peoples Democratic Party’s Board of Trustees has urged party members to unite behind Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential flag bearer for the 2023 general elections, as the party works to save Nigeria.

Chairman of the board, Sen. Walid Jibrin, appealed in a statement in Abuja on Monday.

He called Atiku Abubakar’s election as the party’s presidential nominee a “huge success” not only for the PDP but also for Nigerians and Nigerians.

He said, “My advice as the PDP BoT Chairman is that we must come together as one entity and speak with one voice to make our party greater, not only in Nigeria but Africa.

“Atiku’s success at the recently concluded PDP primaries has opened a good way for all Nigerians come 2023.

“We must remember that Atiku was in 2019 elected at the PDP presidential primary in Port-Harcourt, but was nakedly sabotaged by APC.

“We must also remember the good performance of Atiku as Vice-President to Olusegun Obasanjo. He’s not a tribalist. He’s the best man for Nigeria’s President.“

The board praised all members of the party, particularly delegates, for their peaceful behaviour prior to, during, and after the convention, which resulted in the election of the candidate.

Speaking further, Jibrin also praised Senator David Mark and the various committees organising the National convention. He described the convention as one of the best since Governor Okowa of Delta State chaired the 2019 convention in Port-Harcourt.

He vowed that the BoT would help the party and the presidential candidate choose a suitable vice president from southern Nigeria before the election.
