PDP National Chair Says Defectors Will be Treated Fairly

The national chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, has said the Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Senator George Akume, will return to the PDP.

Ayu started this Monday in Gboko while receiving John Dyeh, a member of the House of Representatives, representing Gboko/Tarka Federal Constituency, who defected from the APC to the PDP.

He noted that the minister, the leader of APC in the North-Central zone, would soon return to the PDP as a prodigal son.

According to Ayu, “Your lost son, George Akume, is coming back to the PDP. I’m saying this thing based on what I know.”

“I earlier prophesied that Akume would hold a broom and he did. Now, I am prophesying that he will come back to the PDP. When he comes back, do not reject him but make sure you rehabilitate him because where he is now, he is not thinking straight. He was a lost son, a prodigal son. Only rehabilitate him and make sure he thinks properly,” Ayu said.

While receiving the serving lawmaker, Ayu said he (Dyeh) had seen the light, adding that all defectors would be treated fairly.

On his part, Dyeh, who led the group of defectors, said his decision to move from the APC to the PDP was because the national chairman was his uncle.

Meanwhile, the state governor, Samuel Ortom, welcomed the federal lawmaker and his other defectors to the People Democratic Party.
