Real Madrid ease past Frankfurt to clinch fifth UEFA Super Cup

Barely three months after winning a record 14th Uefa Champions League trophy, Real Madrid have clinched the 2022 Uefa Super Cup.

A 2-0 win against Eintracht Frankfurt, thanks to goals from David Alaba and Karim Benzema, saw the Spanish Champions win a fifth Super Cup title.

As Real Madrid continues to gather more silverwares, Benzema has also continued to impact the club as his goal in the Super Cup brought his goal tally to 324 in 610 appearances, making him the club’s second highest goal scorer only behind Cristiano Ronaldo with 450 goals.

The Frenchman has been in hot form since Ronaldo left Madrid is on a favourite for this year’s Ballon d’Or.
