Rema calls out DJ Neptune for releasing his song without permission
Nigerian singer, Divine Ikubor professionally known as Rema, expressed his displeasure in a Twitter post after he found out that DJ Neptune was trying “to ride on his humility”.
Apparently, DJ Neptune released their song together titled ‘For You’ on his newly released‘Greatness 2.0’. album. Rema said the DJ dropped this record with neither his permission nor permission from his label.
Rema disclosed that Neptune had already tagged him in an Instagram post he made on his page @deejayneptune on Monday, announcing the tracklist for his sophomore album ‘Greatness 2.0’ and he kicked against it yet they still went ahead to drop the song, taking his humility for granted.
He said his boss Don Jazzy will be angry for this public call out but he’s apologizing in advance because “there are some things I can’t be talked out of and number 1 is my ART”, Rema clearly stated.
The Mavin Records golden boy said this won’t be the first time the industry has slapped him on the cheek but he has decided to ignore it because he has people’s interests to protect and a family to feed. Nonetheless, he urged the DJ to take down his hit because, at this juncture, he doesn’t mind making new enemies in the industry.
Rema’s Tweet reads;
“With all due respect chief! Dropped my old record without due process?!! I’m not happy at all. @deejayneptune
Don’t violate the codes, can’t drop my song without my notice, can’t even remember the last time we spoke big bro, I pleaded with my manager behind the scenes when y’all tagged me before it dropped, y’all still went ahead! c’mon nau!
