Rihanna Teams Up with Tems For Black Panther’s ‘Lift Me Up.

Rihanna is making a big comeback from her maternity leave with a new single titled “Lift Me Up”, which she co-wrote with Nigeria’s own Tems.

Set to be released on the 28th of October, Lift Me Up will be Rihanna’s first single since her prolonged break 6 years ago. The single which is to soundtrack Marvel’s blockbuster movie, ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,’ was co-written by Tems alongside Rihanna, Oscar winner Ludwig Gorranson and Ryan Coogler. ‘Lift Me Up’ was written as a tribute to the life and legacy of Chadwick Boseman.

‘Lift me Up’ is the lead single for the “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” soundtrack.

Speaking about the song, Tems said:

“After speaking with Ryan and hearing his direction for the film and the song, I wanted to write something that portrays a warm embrace from all the people that I’ve lost in my life. I tried to imagine what it would feel like if I could sing to them now and express how much I miss them. Rihanna has been an inspiration to me so hearing her convey this song is a great honor”.

Tems had earlier featured on one of the movie’s soundtracks, with her rendition of Bob Marley’s “No Woman No Cry.”

Set to hit theatres by November 11, 2022, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the much anticipated sequel to the 2018 Black Panther film.
