Rita Dominic Celebrates 23yrs in Nollywood with her latest movie “LA Femme Anjola”

Nollywood Veteran, Rita Dominic has beckoned on her fans to join her in celebrating her 23rd year in the Nigerian film industry, accompanied by the launch of her latest movie, “La Femme Anjola”, after being off-screen for a while.

The celebration took place in an Instagram live session, where she talked about her journey and experiences in the film industry. 

In a post on her verified Instagram page, Dominic wrote, “Fam! It’s not my birthday but I would like you to join me tomorrow to talk about #lafemmeanjola and my 23-year journey in Nollywood. Yes, it’s been that long since I joined Nollywood but I still remember the first fan phone call I received.”

She also seized the opportunity to talk about her latest movie, LA Femme Anjola, where she disclosed that the movie would be on screen for the first time in North America. Fans are gushing over the release because they trust the veteran to always deliver a masterpiece.

23yrs in Nollywood and Rita Dominic is still making waves like a new actress. Rita made her debut in Nollywood in 1998, after she starred in the movie, “A Time to Kill.” She has since starred in over 200 flicks and is still counting. She won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2012. Moreso, in her career spanning over two decades, the ace actress has won numerous awards locally and internationally. 

Meanwhile, a few days ago, the actress sparked pregnancy rumours on the internet based on some of her pictures which surfaced online, with her seemingly having a protruded belly.

Despite being unmarried and the pregnancy speculations, Rita has maintained that she won’t rush into marriage to please the public, although having recently revealed her longtime lover, Fidelis Anosike.

In an episode #WithChude. She shared her thoughts on marriage and children, the reason behind going public with her relationship and how she has been able to stay relevant for over 23 years now.

Speaking on the issue of relationships and marriage, the actress said “I respect the institution of marriage as my parents were married until death literally parted them and they had a beautiful relationship. The problem is at some point, it begins to annoy you because of how much importance people have placed on it.

“I do want to marry, and I want to get it right once and for all. You know, we make such a big deal of it; we force people and put pressure on them to go in. When they eventually rush into this union, they make mistakes because they were only trying to please people.”

Rita attributed her 23-years success-story in the movie industry to her ability to learn and evolve overtime. “I never rest on my laurels, I see the need to constantly learn and grow in my craft while also having an open mind to learn from everybody,” she said.
