Rudeboy’s wife, Anita Okoye Files for a Divorce after 7years of Marriage
Anita Okoye, the wife of Nigerian singer, Paul Okoye a.k.a Rudeboy of the defunct music group, Psquare has petitioned to divorce her husband after 17 years together and 7 years of marriage.
Anita and Paul were university sweethearts until they got married in 2014 in a very flamboyant wedding ceremony held in Port Harcourt. They welcomed their first son, Andre, the previous year and in 2017, they welcomed a set of twins, Nadia and Nathan.
In 2019, she was accused by a popular aphrodisiac vendor of buying items to keep her marriage together. Although the story didn’t stick because the vendor had to take it down from Instagram.
However, Anita first sparked divorce rumours in April when it was reported that she relocated with their three children to the United States of America, for reasons best known to the couple.
In a recent development, Sources close to the couple disclosed that an official petition citing irreconcilable differences as the basis for divorce was filed by Anita at an Abuja court recently. The said document was also leaked online, showing the dissolution of their marriage. Anita also advised her now estranged husband in the legal document to challenge the petition if he feels disgruntled.
The source further revealed that both parties will proceed amicably with the legal resolution of the marriage and be the best parents to their children.
“Paul and Anita have always been very good friends and like every couple, they have had issues for a while but plan to remain on good terms and keep the friendship they have always had since their days as university students,” the source said.
The news of the couple’s impending divorce comes as a rude shock to both of their families, close friends, fans and the public at large.
Although the now estranged couple states irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split, an Instagram blogger, cutie_juls had earlier reported that Paul Okoye cheats and assaults his wife, Anita. And then, Anita who got tired of the constant beatings tried leaving her home but ran back after friends and family members started showing concern.
