See Why Diddy Is Suing His Former Clothing Brand, Sean John, For $25 Million.

Famous American top music producer Sean John Combs also known as diddy, is suing his former clothing company Global Brand Groups for using his image for advertisement, likeness, and persona without his permission.

Diddy was said to have filed for the complaint on Thursday, 4th February, after the brand launched a new women’s clothing line, “Missguided,” using his image, likeness, and persona without his permission.

According to the lawsuit, Diddy claimed that the companies fabricated his quotes in an article, making it seem as though he endorses the Sean John x Missguided clothing line. His image was also included in a 40-second video campaign in promotion of the new collaboration.

According to Diddy’s lawyer Jonathan D. Davis, he stated that Diddy disapproves of using his image to promote a brand he no longer wishes to be associated with. He said;

“He does not challenge GBG’s right to use the Sean John trademark, but rather GBG’s decision to leverage a fabricated quote they created and then falsely attributed to Mr. Combs,” Davis said. “And to use Mr. Combs’s name and other monikers to create the false and misleading impression that Mr. Combs is the decision-maker behind the designs and creation of the GBG Collection.”

“Sean John, GBG, and Missguided are using the unapproved material, which contains false or misleading representations of fact, to promote and sell the items in the GBG Collection because they understand that associating it with Mr. Combs will significantly increase sales and profits.”

Diddy is filing for the lawsuit a few months after filing his first lawsuit against the brand using his trademark “Vote Or Die” to sell their merchandise.

It is also said that this isn’t the first time diddy is having issues with the clothing brand. It was revealed that, sometimes Last month, diddy accused the brand of using his lines “Vote or Die” slogan on their websites “SeanJohn.com.”
