The hard-earned victory moves Chelsea to 7th on EPL log

Frank Lampard’s men moved to seventh on the league table following a hard-fought 1-0 victory against 10-man Fulham in Saturday’s London Derby.

The keenly contested game stayed pretty much uneventful until Fulham’s Antonee Robinson got sent off just at the stroke of half time for a reckless tackle on Cesar Azpilicueta.

After the break, the host remained unbroken and impenetrable until Mason Mount broke the deadlock in the 78th minute.

With slightly over ten minutes left of play, Chelsea, who had been quite wasteful for most of the game, had to hold on until the final whistle before they could take a breath of relief.

The well-timed goal went a long way in saving Frank some blushes as his team, who have been somewhat underwhelming, registered their second win in seven games.

The defeat leaves Fulham, who had drawn their previous five league games, four safety points.
