Hours after suffering a heavy 6-1 defeat which was orchestrated mostly by defensive blunders and with hours to the close of the transfer window, Manchester United have officially announced the signing of Alex Telles from FC Porto.
The left-back arrives at United on a four-year contract with the option to extend by a further year.
Manchester United who had previously considered Real Madrid’s Sergio Reguilon before he headed to Tottenham Hotspur are keen for the 27-year-old Brazilian International to provide stiff competition for current left-back Luke Shaw.
Telles who comes with a big reputation as an attacking full-back having scored 26 goals over five seasons with Porto and notched 50 assists, on signing for Manchester United said he wants to continue winning trophies like he did at Porto and would give his all t be a success at the club.
Manchester United Coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said Alex is a player the club has been tracking for some time and his performances over the past few years are exactly what Manchester United are looking for.
Do you agree with Ole? Will signing one defender help solve the club’s defensive woes and if that is possible, is Alex Telles the man?
