Trump Demur Biden’s Victory.

President Donald Trump has insisted that he won the 2020 presidential election in the United States of America even as Biden was declared the winner on Saturday after maintaining a wide lead with Trump, the incumbent president.

The US President shared a series of tweets on Saturday, November 7, in which he made unsubstantiated allegations of illegality in the voting process – all of which were labeled as disputed and potentially misleading by Twitter. He also insisted he had won the election “by a lot”.

CNN also reported that sources in the White House have disclosed that the President said he won’t be accepting the election result. They also disclosed that he will be challenging the election result in court from Monday, November 9.

“Beginning Monday, our campaign will start prosecuting our case in court to ensure election laws are fully upheld and the rightful winner is seated.
“The American people are entitled to an honest election, that means counting all legal ballots, and not counting any illegal ballots,” Trump said.
Meanwhile, Joseph R. Biden Jr. was elected president of the United States on Saturday, defeating President Trump after campaigning on a promise to restore civility and stability to American politics and to expand the government’s role in guiding the country through the surging coronavirus pandemic.

The victory arrives days after a prolonged vote count reflecting a deeply divided electorate, providing a history-making moment for President-elect Biden’s running mate, Senator Kamala Harris of California to become America’s first female, first Black and first South Asian vice president-elect, representing a new face of political power after an election all about who wields power and how they use it.

Mr. Biden, 77, who will become the 46th president and the oldest man ever sworn into the office, secured the needed 270 votes from the Electoral College after Pennsylvania was called for him, though the race was far closer than many Democrats, Republicans and pollsters had expected.

The president has been receiving a series of congratulatory messages including that of former President Barack Obama who strongly believes in Biden.

The President-elect would be sworn in as the 46th President of the United States of America in January 2021.
