UCL: Barcelona risk group stage elimination

Barcelona are on course for a second consecutive group stage exit from the champions league, despite putting up a spirited fight in a six hola thriller against Inter Milan at the Nou Camp.

Having lost to Milan in Italy last week, Barcé needed to win Wednesday’s return leg to keep their chances of progressing to the next group alive and went on to draw first flood with Ousmane Dembele’s first half goal.

After the break, Nicolo Barella levelled things for Inter before Lautaro Martinez went on to put the visitors in front.

The game soon took a very dramatic turn with Robert Lewandowski squaring things up in the 82nd minute.

Robin Gosens put Inter back in front in the 89tn and Lewandowski responded with an extra time brace.

The result leaves Barcelona third in Group C with four points, three behind second place Inter, who trail group leaders, Bayern Munich with five points. And if Inter Milan defeats Viktoria Plzen in their next game, Barcelona will be relegated to the Europa League.

Meanwhile, Bayern have qualifed for the round of 16, following a 4-2 victory over Viktoria Plzen.
