UCL: Inter Milan escapes Benfica to set up semi-final against rivals AC Milan
Inter Milan played out a dramatic 3-3 draw in the second leg of their quarter-finals encounter against Benfica but was able to scale through to the semi-final of the competition on a 5-3 aggregate following a 2-0 win in the first leg.
The result means Inter will be up against Arch rivals, AC Milan in the semi-finals of the champions league after the latter defeated Napoli to book a place.
This is Inter’s first Semis since 2010, when José Mourinho led them to victory in the competition, while Milan is in the semis for the first time since 2007.
A Milan derby is always eventful and with both teams having their eyes on the prize, next month’s encounter promises to be a showpiece.
