UCL: Manchester City sees off fierce Atletico to book semi-final spot

Manchester City held their own in a fiery quarter-final second-leg encounter against Atletico Madrid to secure a Champions League semi-final spot for the third time in their history.

Atletico, playing in the comfort of their home, had the fans behind them and lots of physicalities, but that wasn’t enough as City stood their ground too, firmly ensure that Kevin De Bruyne’s first leg goal did the job.

The narrow but significant victory means Pep’s side who are chasing their first Champions League trophy will be up against 13 times Champions, Real Madrid.

While, Liverpool will square up against Villarreal, after getting past a resolute Benfica side.
