UCL: Real Madrid ease past Shakhtar Donetsk with an emphatic victory

Real Madrid showed no mercy as they thrashed Shakhtar Donetsk 5-0 in their Champions League group stage encounter on Tuesday

An own goal by Sergiy Kryvtsov gave Real a one-goal lead heading into the break.

After the break, the visitors sprung to action as Vinicius Junior scored twice in five minutes.

Rodrygo made it four, then Karim Benzema, slid home the fifth goal late on.


The results mean Madrid are second in Group D, level on six points with leaders FC Sheriff, who lost 3-1 to Inter Milan.
