UCL: Real Madrid see off 10-man Inter Milan to finish as group leaders

13-time winners record Champions League winners, Real Madrid finished top of Group D with a 2-0 victory over 10-man Inter Milan.

Toni Kroos opened the scoring for Real with a screamer in the 17th minute, giving the La Liga side a record 1,000 goals in the European Cup, as Inter trailed behind into the break.

After the break, Barella got sent off in the 64th-minute t further compound Inter’s misery, and fifteen minutes later, substitute, Marco Asensio sent home an absolute stunner to make it two for the host. 

A win for Inter would have seen them leapfrogged their opponents to finish as group leaders, but the Italian giants failed to convert their chances, as they progress into the next round with 10 points in second place, five behind Ancelloti’s men.
