UCL: Real Madrid suffer first defeat of the season

Real Madrid succumbed to their first defeat of the season, as RB Leipzig secured a 3-2 victory of the Spanish Giants in their Champions League encounter on Tuesday.

Goals from Josko Gvardiol and Christopher Nkunku put the host ahead 18 minutes into the game.

Vinicius Jr pulled on back just before the break, to create an opening for a possible in the second half.

Both teams kept at it after the break, till Timo Werner made it three for the German side in the 81st minute.

Never one to go down without a fight, Rodrygo scored a stoppage time spot kick to reduce the deficit for the defending European Champions, who have already qualified for the next round of the competition.

The result might have put a dent in Madrid’s winning running so far this season, but it didn’t tamper with their position at the top of Group F

On the other hand, it increased Leipzig chances of qualifying for the Round of 16.
