UCL Semis: Real Madrid, Man City share the spoils

The highly anticipated Champions League semi-finals first leg encounter between defending Champions, Real Madrid and Pep Guardiola’s Man City ended in a 1-1 draw, thanks to belters from Vinicius Jr and Kevin de Bruyne in both halves of the game.

City were the better side for most part of the first half but it was Madrid who were leading at the break, with Vinicius thundering home his side’s only chance of the first, 36 minutes into the game.

After the break, City trailed Madrid by that lone goal, till de Bruyne fired home an equalizer in the 67th minute.

The second leg at the Etihad next Wednesday will determine who goes through with City hoping to knock out Madrid, who dramatically eliminated them at this level last season, on their way to a historic 14 UCL titles, which they are aiming to increase to 15.

The winner of this semi-final fixture will square up against the winner of the AC Milan vs Inter Milan clash.
