We Appear to be in Confusion About our Nation – Tinubu
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for president in the general elections of 2023, Bola Tinubu, has claimed that Nigerians appear perplexed by the country’s situation.
He made this statement in Abuja during Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto’s 70th birthday celebration.
“I listened to the panellists, and we appear to be in confusion about our nation,” the ex-Lagos State governor said. “We inherited speaking in tongues from the Bible, but our diversity is a promise for prosperity.”
Tinubu hailed him for his contributions to the growth and development of Nigeria, describing him as a great man endowed with resilient intellectual abilities.
He praised the priest for creating an organisation on the occasion of his 70th birthday and gave the Sokoto Bishop instructions to create the country as well.
The APC candidate urged Nigerians to participate in the nation’s growth in addition to his vow to help finish the Kukah project.
He added, “You are building an institution in honour of your 70th birthday. I am 70 too. Bishop, you will build not just the institution but the greatness of a nation.
“It is on your shoulder; it is on mine, and we must build it together. I must, and I will contribute handsomely personally to build and see to the completion of that institution because it reflects something.”
Aminu Tambuwal, the governor of Sokoto State, praised Kukah for his unwavering devotion to his nation.
Kukah received praise from Tambuwal, who presided over the celebration of his 70th birthday in Abuja, for his unwavering faith in the prospects of a brand-new Nigeria.
Although Kukah’s criticism of the country’s poor governance has generated controversy, he claimed that Kukah still thought Nigeria could and would emerge from the gloom of failing political leadership.
APC presidential contender Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his running mate Kashim Shettima, Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, and many other important political figures for the 2023 elections were present the ceremony.
