We have full confidence in Adamu – Musawa

Deputy Director of the All Progressives Congress’ Presidential Campaign Organisation, Hanatu Musawa, has passed a vote of confidence on the party’s National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.

Musawa stated this during her appearance on Politics Today on Channels Television on Monday night.

She said that the purported scheme to have him removed from office amounted to little more than social media chitchat.

She said, “We have full confidence in him and I don’t think anything is going to change in that regard.

“I think most of what you are hearing in the news is not the official position of the party but talks around social media. Most leaders of the party and even the NEC are Musawa’s optimism is coming ahead of the NEC meeting with the NWC members, which political pundits have predicted may decide the fate of the APC national chairman.

She did, however, voice the opinion that Adamu’s dismissal won’t be directly impacted by the meeting’s outcome, if at all.

“I think what you are going to see is a vote of confidence on the APC leadership of Senator Adamu as we have no plan to remove him ahead of the election.

“As a party, we want to go into this election united and unity comes from the top. Adamu has been able to navigate the party to where it is today,” she added.
