We Will Hit the Ground Running – Shettima

All Progressives Congress vice presidential candidate Kashim Shettima has said if Bola Tinubu wins the presidency in 2023, his administration will recreate the “wonders” in Borno and Lagos states.

Shettima, a former governor of Borno state, stated this on Monday at the opening ceremony of the 2022 Nigerian Bar Association’s Annual General Conference held at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos. He  also aimed at “pretentious politicians.”

The conference with the theme ‘Bold Transitions’ began on Monday through August 26.

Shettima spoke during a panel discussion with other panellists just after Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate for the People’s Democratic Party, and before Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party.

According to Atiku, state governments and the private sector will administer federal institutions effectively if he is elected president in 2023.

Commenting immediately after Atiku, Shettima said, “Nigerians can see through the worn-out rhetoric and sophistry of pretentious politicians. Nigerians should follow the man wey know the road. From day one, we will hit the ground running. We’ll promptly address the issue of the economy, ecology, and security.

“And we have the antecedents. I built some of the best schools in Nigeria. Go to Borno and see wonders; you will never believe that it is a state in a state of war.

“So, we are going to replicate our achievements in Lagos, Borno and some of the frontline states so that our nation will be a better place. The fundamental issue is pure leadership.”
