World Cup; Croatia edge Morocco to clinch third place
Croatia clinched a third place finish at the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar with a 2-1 win over the tournament’s surprise package, Morocco.
Josko Gvardiol jumped highest to put Croatia in front seven minutes into the game.
Barely two minutes later, Achraf Dari levelled things for the Atlas Lions with a header as well.
Mislav Orsic put Croatia back in front, a few minutes before the break.
No goals came after the break, and that was enough for Croatia, who finished as runners up to France four years ago, walked home with yet to another World Cup medal, even if it’s not the gold medal.
