World Cup: Crucial win over Ecuador sends Senegal to last 16

Senegal picked up a vital 2-1 win over Ecuador to book a place in the last 16 of the FIFA World Cup for the second time in their history. 

Kalidou Koulibaly’s 70th minute was the decider, which helped Aliou Cisse’s men finish second in group A with six points, and set up a round-of-16 clash against England on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Netherlands defeated host, Qatar 2-0 to finish top of group A and set up a last-16 encounter with the USA. 

Ecuador gave their all, but finished third in the Group with four points and is out of the tournament along with Qatar the finished bottom with zero points after losing all three games.
