World Cup; Netherlands set to take on Argentina in dicey Quarter final
Lionel Messi was on target as Argentina held on to a 2-1 over Australia in the last 16 to set up a quarter final clash with the Netherlands at the World Cup.
Louis Van Gaal’s men had already seen off the USA with a comfortable 3-1 victory to become the first team to reach the quarter final at ongoing Tournament in Qatar.
The game between Argentina and Australia was Messi’s 1,000th appearance in professional football and his 100th game as Argentina captain, and of course, he did not disappoint, as he once again put up an awe inspiring performance to ensure his country made it the next round of the tournament.Β
Argentina are one of the favourites to win the World Cup, but The Netherlands, who are yet to lose a game under their current coach, are not push overs, as they’ve proven so far in the tournament, so the clash billed for next week Friday, promises to be an entertaining one.Β
