“You can’t be begging me to save your marriage. See you in court”- Tonto responds to Jane’s petition
Jane had filed a petition against Tonto Dikeh for defamation of character and cyberstalking, with regards to Tonto’s allegations that her Ex-lover has in his custody, Jane’s explicit tapes.
Janemena’s solicitor described Dikeh’s posts as damaging and malicious. The Instagram dancer, through her lawyers, is seeking an immediate retraction of the said publications by Dikeh on her social media handles and a publication of the retraction in four national dailies in Nigeria.
They have also asked that Dikeh tender an unreserved apology to Janemena in respect of the malicious publication and pay the sum of N500,000 (Five Hundred Million Naira) to their client as exemplary damages for the malicious publications.
The petition reads in parts, “We write you this letter to demand your immediate retraction of your publication referred to above, render unreserved apology to her and pay her N500m as compensation for the callous publications”.
The lawyers said Dikeh’s post suggested that Janemena, who is married, is having a sexual relationship with Kpokpogri and is cheating on her husband.
“Janemena is happily married to Mr. Andre Oyeze. She is a native of Isoko in Delta State whose native law and custom forbid a married woman from having sexual relationship with another man. Indeed, it is a taboo in Isoko Land, Delta State for a married woman to have sexual relationship with any man who is not her husband,” it reads further.
The lawyers maintained that no such sex tape exists, nor has she ever had a sexual relationship with Kpokpogri.
They said that due to Dikeh’s ‘recklessness,’ Janemena had been brought to “public ridicule, odium and opprobrium in the comity of Isoko women, her business associates, friends, members of her family, etc.
“The traumatic condition which your publications under reference threw Janemena into caused the miscarriage of her one-month-old pregnancy,” the letter further stated.
In response to the petition, Tonto Dikeh maintained her stance that the sex tape exists, amidst her denials. She also disclosed how Jane has been begging her to save her marriage, behind the eyes of the media but in public, claims to know her legal rights.
“If I say your sex tape exist, I say it again and again child. You can’t be begging me behind the scene to save your marriage and begging to see me for an appointment to explain yourself and then come with a petition. Am not as dumb as your boyfriend so I wouldn’t be releasing your sex tape nor your call a week ago. See you in court.”
Supporting Tonto Dikeh’s claims, a friend to Kpokpogri alleged that Jane’s brother called him to please talk to Tonto to help save her marriage. He said despite the petition and alleged threatening calls, he stands with Tonto Dikeh.
“Tony you called me with your sister Janemena to please talk to King Tonto to save your sister’s marriage… Maybe the next petition is against me. I’m waiting since you guys still trying to harm me by receiving calls from different people. I stand with King Tonto. The court here we go. I’m alive”.
