Zamfara Council of Ulamas Backs Tinubu, Matawalle’s Bid

The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Zamfara State Governor Bello Matawalle’s bid for reelection have received the backing of the Zamfara Council of Ulamas.

Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa, the state coordinator for the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, made the announcement in Gusau.

The clerics also praised Matawalle’s administration and President Muhammadu Buhari, scoring them high.

The clerics were represented by Sheikh Abubakar Fari, the Chairman of the Zamfara State Council of Ulama, and Shiek Liman Muhammad Dan-Alhaji, the Chief Imam of the Gusau Central Mosque and Chairman of the Imams of Jumat Mosques.

He was cited in a statement by Yusuf Idris Gusau, the APC’s publicity secretary in Zamfara State.

According to the clerics, the APC presidential candidate is unparalleled and will be the next best thing to happen to the nation. This is beyond doubt in their minds.

Marafa had pleaded for Islamic scholars, including muazims, imams of juma’at mosques, and others, to back Tinubu’s presidential bid. He claimed that his support for the former governor of Lagos State was based on his record of accomplishments.

Marafa claimed that Tinubu left an admirable track record for political, economic, social, and empowerment growth during his two terms as governor of Lagos State.

He added that if elected, Tinubu would duplicate the achievements seen in Lagos on a national scale.
