Zfancy Arrested by Police Over Staged Ritual Prank
The Nigeria Police Force has taken legal action against popular prankster, Ubani Zion Chibuike, aka ZFancy, for producing and promoting inciteful ritual related contents on his social media platforms.
It all started after a lady identified as Seky took to her Instagram page to narrate her encounter with the skit maker and his group who attempted to use her for ritual.
According to the lady, she was reached out to by Zfancy’s team for a video shoot and upon agreement, she was asked to come with a friend.

She revealed that after being picked up in a tinted Mercedes Benz, she lost consciousness and when she woke up, she found herself naked and abandoned by the roadside as seen in a viral video.
Sharing her narrow escape, she pleaded with the masses for the release of her friend who is reportedly still being held captive by Zfancy. She added that her friend’s mother had been blowing up her phone over the whereabouts of her friend.
“Please help me, Zfancy and his friends almost destroyed my life after calling me for a shoot. Till date I’ve not heard from my friend. Zfancy is a ritualist I have every proof but he’s trying to oppress me. Please I need help,” she captioned the video.
ZFancy who has been under the radar however, claimed the videos were scripted and part of his attempt to regain the spotlight.
His revelation drew mixed reaction, with popular social media personality, VeryDarkBlackMan promising to get him arrested for joking with such a sensitive social issue.
In a recent development, Zfancy was reportedly arrested around 11am on Wednesday, July 3, at an apartment in Wuye, Abuja.
The police statement on the arrest signed by Force Spokesperson, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi reads, “The Nigeria Police Force, through the NPF National Cybercrime Centre, has arrested a Nigerian ‘prankster’, one Mr. Ubani Zion Chibuike (AKA ZFancy), at an apartment in Wuye, Abuja. This arrest follows the circulation of accusatory videos on social media, in which ZFancy was alleged to have committed heinous crimes, including rape. These videos caused significant apprehension among social media users.
“Furthermore, ZFancy came out and claimed the videos were scripted and part of his attempt to regain the spotlight after a break. Regardless, such actions have serious implications and can not be taken lightly. The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to maintaining public safety and ensuring that individuals are held accountable for actions that incite fear or disturb public peace.
“The Police therefore warns pranksters and content creators to be law-abiding and be conscious of pranks and contents that could pose threats to the public and jeopardise the general security of our country. We urge the public to remain calm as we proceed with the necessary legal actions in this case.”

ZFancy is not the first prankster arrested by the Nigerian police over his content. In 2023, the police also arrested and sued an Oyo State-based skit maker and prankster, Abdullahi Maruff Adisa, popularly known as Trinity Guy, for sexualising a minor in a viral skit video.
The trial court had also ordered the remand of Isiaka Ahmed, 40, and his wife Rofiat Ahmed, 29, who are the parents of the minor.
The police charged Abdullahi, alongside the parents of the victim with conspiracy, sexual abuse and exploitation.
