After series of trials and errors and visa bans from certain countries, Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has announced that he has secured a 10-year work visa in Canada.
The singer shared the news in a viral Instagram video on Friday, proudly displaying his new visa and expressing his excitement about the opportunity to perform internationally.
In the video, Portable exclaimed, “Alhamdulilahi CEO DR ZEHNATION Going to Canada. Going and coming 10 years working permit”. His joy was evident as he shared his anticipation for future performances in the country.
In his Instagram post, Portable wrote,
“10 Years Working Permit Going And Coming Canada. God Over Everything Alhamdulilahi. Who get God get everything? ZEHNATION many, many inspirations.”
The singer’s followers flooded the comment section with congratulatory messages, praising him for acknowledging the role of God’s grace in his success.
One fan, The Rayz TV, commented,
“I am glad you acknowledged it’s God that is behind your grace and give Him the glory, not man nor any kind juju. More grace to you, Zazu.”
Another user, Orlando_Don_Porosky, noted the magnitude of Portable’s achievement,
“Wow Grace dey follow this guy o. They gave him a WX_1 visa, which allows a visitor to work in Canada without a work permit for certain activities. This visa is intended for professionals who will be in Canada for a short period.”
This development marks a significant milestone for Portable, especially considering his previous struggles with visa applications.
In a 2022 interview on Echo Room, Portable revealed that he had been denied a US visa five times, attributing the rejections to his presentation.
