“Deeper Life Denies Reports Claiming Pastor Kumuyi Dismissed Christian Genocide in Nigeria”

The Deeper Christian Life Ministry, has refuted a viral report which claimed that its General Superintendent, Pastor William Kumuyi, had denied the existence of Christian genocide in the country while accusing the United States of attempting to steal Nigeria’s natural resources.

An online platform called Ibom Focus had on Sunday, claimed that Kumuyi, during a press conference in Lagos, denied that Christians were being killed in Nigeria. The controversial report stirred outrage across social media platforms which led to a barrage of attacks and insults on the man of God.

While reacting to the viral report, the Church, in an official statement posted on Kumuyi’s X account on Monday, described the publication as entirely false and malicious.

In the clarification statement, the Church said:

“The Deeper Christian Life Ministry #dclmhq condemns in the strongest terms the malicious and entirely false news report circulated by a faceless platform which goes by the name of ‘Ibom Focus.’

“The story with the headline: ‘America is Trying to Steal our Natural Resources; There is No Christian Genocide in Nigeria, says Pastor Kumuyi,’ is a total fabrication and the figment of the imagination of its authors.”

The statement noted that Pastor Kumuti had been out of the country for weeks and could not have addressed a press conference in Lagos as claimed by the publication.

“Pastor Kumuyi did not at any time address a press conference or make the aforementioned statement in Lagos.

“He has been away from Nigeria for a considerable length of time, holding programmes in the Oceania region and the Far East.

“Any recent news reports or public statements being attributed to Pastor W.F. Kumuyi are false and inaccurate.

“Pastor Kumuyi is fully engaged with the Global Crusade with Kumuyi (The GCKHQ), which has recently held events in Fiji, the Solomon Islands, and Pakistan. He has not granted any recent press interviews or made public statements on other matters.

“This is an official clarification: Any recent news reports or public statements being attributed to Pastor W.F. Kumuyi are false and is a figment of the imagination of the writers and publishers.

“We kindly request that all media outlets retract this false information and commit to verifying all future reports before publication,” the statement said.
