Media entrepreneur and politician Dele Momodu has advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to base any future re-election campaign on the administration’s performance and achievements in office rather than political rhetoric or campaign promises. Speaking on the nation’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections, Momodu said democratic leadership should be judged by measurable results, urging the President to present Nigerians with a clear account of the government’s accomplishments in key sectors, including the economy, security, infrastructure, education, healthcare, power supply, and job creation. According to him, citizens have the right to evaluate elected leaders based on policies implemented and the impact those policies have had on their daily lives. He stressed that accountability and transparency are essential pillars of democracy, adding that political campaigns should focus on factual records and practical solutions to national challenges rather than personal attacks or divisive rhetoric. Momodu also encouraged political leaders across party lines to engage in issue-based campaigns that promote constructive debate and offer realistic proposals for improving governance.
