Speaking immediately after casting his ballot at Ward 2, Udomi Primary School, in Esan Central Local Government Area, the governor described the peaceful and smooth progression of the electoral exercise as an absolute victory for grassroots democracy. He noted that the enthusiastic participation of citizens across various polling units clearly demonstrates that the people are deeply invested in choosing the local leaders who will manage their nearest socio-economic affairs.
The election, which was meticulously organized by the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC), concluded with a massive sweep for the ruling party, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) officially won all 18 chairmanship seats and councilorship slots contested across the state. Despite initial legal pushbacks and political tension from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caucuses leading up to the July election schedule, accredited civic observers and security personnel confirmed that voting remained largely orderly, secure, and free from significant disruptions.
