The international pageant stage has a magnificent new queen! Joheirry Mola of the Dominican Republic has officially been crowned Miss World 2026.
The grand finale of the 73rd edition of the prestigious pageant took place at a vibrant seaside ceremony in Nha Trang, Vietnam, coinciding with the organization’s historic 75th-anniversary celebrations. Mola triumphed over a competitive field of 111 contestants from around the globe, succeeding reigning titleholder Opal Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand.
At the conclusion of the tense final rounds, Spain’s Elisabeth Reynes Alabern was named the first runner-up, while Malaysia’s Taanusiya Chetty captured the second runner-up spot.
Beyond her striking presence on stage, Mola won over the judges and audience with her intellect and deep commitment to social impact. A dedicated educator, business administration graduate, and founder of the Voices of Tomorrow initiative, she has spent years championing expanded access to English education for children in vulnerable communities.
Her victory marks only the second time the Dominican Republic has captured the coveted blue crown, following Mariasela Álvarez’s historic win back in 1982. As Mola steps into her new global role, supporters back home and across the Caribbean are celebrating a remarkable triumph built on grace, leadership, and a true passion for service.
