Arsenal’s Misery all but compounded on Saturday as a 2-1 defeat to Everton saw them drop to 15th in the league table with 14 points from 14 games, their worst start to the season since 1974/75 when they just won three of their first 14 games.
On the other hand, the deserving victory sent Carlos Ancelotti’s men who have Leicester City, Chelsea, and Arsenal in a short space of seven days to second place on the log.
Mikel Arteta’s side has been very shambolic concerning goals this season, but that hasn’t stopped them from scoring for the opponent as Rob Holding, who captained the team in the absence of Aubameyang, who opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with yet another goal to make it Arsenal’s third of the season.
Arsenal leveled 10 minutes before the break when Nicolas Pepe scored from the spot after Tom Davies fouled Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
The Gunners barely had time to soak in the leveler when Everton retook the lead right on the entry of half-time when Yerry Mina headed in close to the post from a corner angle.
It indeed doesn’t feel like Christmas for Arsenal as they have now gone seven league games without a win. Could Arteta’s job be on the line?
