Wolves pulled off an injury-time comeback to stop Chelsea from going top of the premiere league table courtesy of Pedro Neto’s 95th-minute strike. It gave the hosts a dramatic victory in Molineux.
Neto’s winner came minutes after being denied a late penalty after referee Stuart Attwell reviewed his original decision on the pitch-side monitor and judged the Wolves forward was not fouled by James.
Following a goalless first half, Olivier Giroud gave the Blues the lead in the 49th minute delivering from a Ben Chilwell pass.
Daniel Podence brought the host on leveled terms in the 66th minute.
And Chelsea thought they would snatch a point away from home. Neto’s injury-time show up earned Wolves only their second win in six games, leaving Chelsea with a second successive defeat after Everton beat them on Saturday, another game in which they could have gone top of the table.
The result, as expected, left Frank Lampard quite disappointed.
