The Head of Equatorial Guinea National Agency for Financial Investigation, Baltasar Ebang Engonga, faces an infidelity scandal involving 400 women amid ongoing corruption investigations.
The controversy arose when private videos allegedly involving Engonga surfaced on social media coinciding with his ongoing corruption investigations. The clips were discovered during a search conducted on impromptu notice at his house and office by ANIF officials.
The clips show Baltasar Engonga engaging in sexual intercourse with multiple women including Zinash Tayachew, the First Lady of Ethiopia, his cousin, and wives of several ministers.
Nigerian celebrity blogger, Tunde Ednut also shared his controversial take on the scandal, as he handpicked his favourite from the 400 explicit videos.
Tunde Ednut in a trending post on his Instagram page captured the video with “Make l no lie, na this video be the best out of all. I lie?l just dey hear Kpor, Kpor, Kpor. Better meat Oo
“Very beautiful, sweet lady! GOD BLESS AFRICA, Everywhere KPAGBUZAAAA, E FULL.”
The post generated reactions from Davido and other celebrities.
Taking to the comment section, Davido wrote; “That nigga wiped out the whole govt cabinet.”
According to recent reports, a woman featured in the viral clips has committed suicide.
At the time of discovery, Engonga had been remanded in custody at Malabo’s Black Beach prison for embezzlement of public funds. The attorney general’s office, led by Anatolio Nzang Nguema, is investigating whether his actions pose potential health risks.
Despite the acts being consensual, the scandal has caused a national outcry and social media frenzy. Vice-President Teodoro Obiang Mangue also announced severe measures against civil servants involved in such acts.
The government has suspended all officials seen in the videos and ordered the installation of surveillance cameras in government buildings.
