“Flush Out the Terrorists!” — PFN Tasks FG on Insecurity, Hardship, and Corruption at 66th Independence

As Nigeria marks its 66th Independence anniversary, the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has issued a powerful charge to the Federal Government, calling for immediate, decisive action to tackle worsening insecurity, economic hardship, and pervasive corruption.

In an official anniversary message delivered by PFN National President, Bishop Francis Wale Oke, the Christian body emphasized that while the nation’s 66-year journey deserves thanksgiving, the severe challenges facing everyday citizens can no longer be ignored.

Demanding a stronger security framework across urban and rural communities, Bishop Oke urged the Federal Government to flush bandits and terrorists out of Nigeria’s forests and bring both perpetrators and their financial sponsors to justice. “The peace and security of our nation are vital, for without them, there cannot be any tangible progress. The blood of our citizens cries out from the ground, and we cannot remain silent,” the PFN President declared.

Addressing economic conditions, the fellowship described the current hardship as deeply worrisome, urging authorities at federal, state, and local levels to deploy national resources for the collective benefit of all citizens rather than a privileged few. Oke called for policy reforms to stimulate local production, boost industrialization, and ease living costs for struggling families. Furthermore, the cleric urged intensified anti-corruption efforts and warned against the growing menace of illicit drug trafficking threatening the nation’s youth.

Despite the stern warnings, PFN expressed unyielding faith in the country’s future, appealing to Nigerians of all ethnic and religious backgrounds to unite in building a prosperous, righteous nation founded on peace and justice.
