Manchester City’s summer signing Erling Haaland was on target once again as Pep Guardiola’s side saw off Southampton with a 4-0 victory.
Haaland’s goal which came in the second half was his 15th goal premier league goal for the defending Champions in less than ten games.
Joao Cancelo and Phil Foden gave the home side a 2-0 lead in the first half.
After the break, Riyad Mahrez and Haaland increased the deficit to four and sent City to the top of the table, pending the result of Arsenal’s game against Liverpool today.
Chelsea 3 – 0 Wolves
In the other game on Saturday, Chelsea saw off Wolves with a a comfortable 3-0 win.
High on confidence, off the back of their impressive win against AC Milan in the Champions League during the week, goals form Kai Harvetz, Christian Pulisic and Armando Broja was enough to give Graham Potter’s side all three points.
