Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has sparked widespread concern after releasing a series of emotional videos pleading for urgent financial help. The actress, who has been battling deteriorating health for years, revealed on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, that she is in desperate need of ₦25 million for life-saving surgeries.
According to Abubakar, she has been diagnosed with a brain tumor and also requires a separate procedure for a spleen condition. The actress’s situation has been compounded by homelessness; she revealed she was recently evicted from her apartment in Abuja after her landlady allegedly rejected a rent payment she tried to make using medical donation funds. She shared that her personal savings were completely depleted after she spent ₦9 million in October 2025 to pay for her mother’s hernia surgery.
Visible frail and sitting on the floor surrounded by packed bags in her viral video, she called on prominent Nigerians—including Seyi Tinubu, VeryDarkMan, and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello—to come to her aid. In response to her public outcry, the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has officially lifted the indefinite suspension placed on her in 2024, with outgoing President Emeka Rollas stating it would be “wicked” to deny her a livelihood during such a critical crisis.
