Bayern maintained the lead till Alex Grimaldo’s stunning free-kick leveled things up in the 25th minute.
Leon Goretzka scored what could have served as a later winner for Bayern in the 86th minute, but Leverkusen found their way back into the game courtesy of Exequiel Palacios’ extra-time penalty.
