Controversial Nollywood actor and filmmaker Yul Edochie has shed light on why he demands a whopping ₦20 million to appear at events. In a recent post shared online, the actor stated that his presence comes with spiritual significance and ancestral power, not just celebrity status.
Edochie posted a video of himself at a high-profile event in Nsugbe, Anambra State, where he came to support his friend, Barrister Tochukwu Nweke (SAN), at the funeral of his father. He was seen surrounded by an entourage, captivating the crowd with what he described as a “powerful spiritual presence.”
“When I charge you 20 million naira to make an appearance at your event, I do not come alone.
I come with all my ancestors and ten thousand spirits from Nteje & Umudioka.
On this day, Nsugbe was on fire.

This isn’t the first time Edochie has made bold spiritual claims. In recent months, the actor, son of legendary Pete Edochie has declared himself both a prophet and a native doctor. He claimed in March that God instructed him to return home and study the traditional ways of his people, stating that “the traditional paths are approved by God.”
He further emphasized that this calling has made him whole:
“When I came back home, I became complete.”
Now describing himself as a deity and spiritual leader, Yul says his public appearances are more than just entertainment they are spiritual encounters.
As expected, his statement sparked mixed reactions online, with some critics questioning his spiritual claims, while others hailed him for embracing his roots unapologetically.
