Nollywood star Adesua Etomi-Wellington has revealed that she narrowly escaped death after a sudden medical emergency led to unplanned surgery while she was in the United Kingdom in June.
In a deeply emotional post shared on Instagram, the award-winning actress recounted how what began as a normal day quickly turned into a life-threatening ordeal. She was in the UK for two speaking engagements with her husband, Banky W, and their two sons when the incident occurred.

“I could have lost my life in June,” she wrote. “What I went through was horrific and ended with an unplanned surgery, and strangely, the surgery itself was the least dramatic part of it all.”
Adesua shared that she believed it was divine intervention that saved her life, as everything that unfolded that day aligned in a way that ensured she received timely medical help.
“If even one single detail had been different, I wouldn’t be here today. When I think about it, I shudder,” she added.
The “Sugar Rush” actress said the frightening experience strengthened her belief in God and reshaped her outlook on life.
“There’s nothing anyone can tell me—God is real,” she declared. “I’m still in awe of His faithfulness to me.”
Adesua went on to encourage her followers to value life, extend kindness to others, and live with gratitude.
“Let’s choose to be softer, kinder, gentler, forgiving, patient, loving, and peaceful. I will never take another day for granted—neither should you.”
Fans and colleagues have flooded her page with messages of love and thanksgiving, celebrating her recovery and survival.
