I did not threaten Peter Obi – Morka

The loggerhead between the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, and Peter Obi has taken another turn as the former said he dus not threthen Obi, calling him to show proof of the attack on his life as claimed.

Recall that Empire has reported that Obi has claimed threat over his life and family regarding his new year message, and has taken to his official X handle to call that If he has truly crossed the line, he should be pointed out to.

In his new year press conference Obi had expressed displeasure over the political, economic and security, healthcare situation in the country, despite the administration’s contrary positions and claims that it has improved different spheres of human endeavour. The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress Felix Morka has taken a swipe at Obi, stating that he has crossed the line.

However, during his appearance on Arise TV on Wednesday, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC stated that he did not threaten Peter Obi. claiming that his comment that Obi would  “face consequences,” had been taken out of context.

“I, Felix Morka, did not threaten Peter Obi. Nothing I said in that interview begins to even suggest remotely,” he continued, rejecting Obi’s allegations.

“I speak for my party. When Peter Obi comes on national television, on a New Year’s Day, and reels out a lot of facts that I consider to be misleading, it is my duty as a national spokesman of APC to clarify,” he said, underlining his role as a representative of the APC.

Speaking further, he said his remarks that Obi was a “prophet of doom,” were in direct response to what he considered misleading statements made by Obi on national television.

He said, “If Peter Obi was called a prophet of doom or was called a voodoo economist, he has it coming to him because he has crossed several lines of truth, end of story. There’s nothing else to suggest (threats) in those words that I said in the moment of the interview. Peter Obi is speaking a lot of falsehood.”

“He who alleges must prove. If Peter Obi says anyone threatened him, he must beyond just saying I’ve been threatened. For a man in his standing, I think he should supply some evidence of those who threatened him because if anyone threatened Peter Obi, we should not be having a conversation in your studio. The law enforcement system should be looking for those who threatened Obi’s life,” Morka said.

Meanwhile, the APC Chieftain also noted that since Obi threat claim comment, he has received over 400 threats, stressing that over 200 of them were death threats

He said, “I have documented no less than 400 threats about over 200 of which are death threats.

“This is not a joke, and it’s gone further to some members of my family who have also been threatened directly.”

“What has triggered this entire insanity cannot be attributed to me. I did not threaten Peter Obi,” he asserted.

Morka stated further that the messages he received stated  that they believe his comments amounted to a threat to Obi’s life. He criticised Obi for not addressing the actions of his supporters, saying, “If I have followers who go around threatening Felix Morka or anyone else for that matter, I would call them to order.”
