Prominent Nigerian forex trader and Firepips Trading Academy founder, Jeffrey Benson, was left visibly shaken after his luxury neon-green Lamborghini Urus—valued at approximately ₦450 million—was surrounded and attacked by suspected street thugs on a busy Lagos road. The terrifying encounter, which was captured in a dramatic video that has since gone viral across social media, has raised massive security concerns among residents and luxury car owners in the metropolitan state.
In the widely circulated footage, a aggressive mob of local area boys can be seen crowding tightly around the high-end, high-performance SUV. The men repeatedly banged on the body of the ₦450 million vehicle and aggressively demanded money from the occupants. As the situation rapidly escalated, some of the individuals began threatening to smash the windows of the exotic car to force it open.
Inside the vehicle, a highly distressed and panicked Jeffrey Benson could be heard making a frantic phone call to his security detail or associates, desperately asking for their whereabouts.
“I’m scared,” Benson repeatedly cried out in the video, urging his team to quickly double back so they could switch vehicles and escape the hostile environment safely. “Where are you guys? Please hurry up, they want to smash the windows!”
This incident comes as a double blow for the wealthy investor, who only months prior made headlines after accidentally crashing his brand-new, ₦1.5 billion Ferrari SF90 Stradale in Lagos. While the trader escaped that high-speed crash physically unhurt, this latest physical confrontation with street thugs has triggered a massive conversation online regarding the growing lack of security for high-profile individuals driving highly recognizable luxury vehicles on public roads. Many social media users have heavily criticized the persistent culture of street intimidation and harassment targeting luxury motorists, calling on Lagos State security agencies to stamp out the lawlessness.
