Senator Ned Nwoko has officially addressed and denied recent allegations surrounding fresh Paris Club refund claims, describing them as recycled and baseless. The lawmaker and billionaire businessman clarified that all matters regarding his consultancy fees and roles in the historic refunds have been thoroughly investigated and resolved years ago.
Nwoko emphasized that he has received multiple clearances from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following various petitions filed against him in the past. He maintained that his involvement was strictly professional and backed by legal contracts that saved billions for state and local governments. He further noted that the resurgence of these claims is a calculated attempt by political detractors to distract him from his legislative duties and tarnish his reputation, insisting that there are no “new” claims or illicit transactions beyond the settled legal agreements.
