Nollywood actor Gideon Okeke has made a shocking revelation, claiming that fellow actor Jim Iyke once tried to take his life during a movie shoot.
In a heartfelt Instagram video, Gideon alleged that the incident happened on January 18, 2024, during a tense moment on set. According to him, Jim Iyke reached for a gun in what appeared to be an attempt to harm him.
“If Jim Iyke had succeeded in using that gun, it would have ended badly,” he said. “Nobody who was present that day has come out to speak the truth, and that really hurts.”
Though he didn’t name anyone who witnessed the incident, Gideon expressed deep disappointment that those present have remained silent.
In the same video, Gideon also took a moment to apologise to fans, friends, and industry colleagues for his recent outbursts on social media, admitting that his behaviour wasn’t right. Still, he insisted that the pain and trauma from the past event continue to affect him.
“I’m sorry to anyone who cares about me or my work,” he said. “Please forgive me. Point is made.”
He added that he reported the case to the Actors Guild of Nigeria shortly after it happened, but nearly a year later, he has received no response or support.
The actor’s emotional statement has sparked mixed reactions online, with fans praising his honesty while also calling on industry leaders to investigate the matter.
