Everton put up a fierce fight to come from two goals down to beat Crystal Palace and secure their place in the Premier League.
The hosts, who are now in a safe zone to continue their 68-year stay in the top flight, looked like they were set for defeat after Jean-Philippe Mateta and Jordan Ayew gave Palace a two-goal lead in the first half.
Nine minutes after the break, Michael Keane scored for Frank Lampard’s side, giving them hope, before Richarlison made it two and provided Everton with a lifeline, and with five minutes left to play, Dominic Calvert-Lewin’a winning header sent Goodison Park agog, as fans ran unto the pitch in sheer, unbridled excitement.
Everton’s last game of the season is against Arsenal on Sunday, but they will play with some ease, knowing their fate doesn’t depend on it.
