“Lies and Propaganda” — Matawalle Slams Opposition, Says Tinubu’s 2027 Success Will Shame Critics

The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has thrown his full political weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, confidently declaring that the administration’s monumental achievements will decisively put critics and opposition parties to shame come the 2027 general elections.

Matawalle delivered the hard-hitting message through his Special Adviser on Political Matters, Hon. Ibrahim Maigandi Danmalikin Gidan Goga, during a Contact and Sensitization Retreat organized by the Northwest Tinubu/Matawalle Peace and Unity Initiatives in Sokoto. The former Zamfara State Governor strongly condemned the steady stream of negativity directed at the presidency, characterizing the pushback as malicious propaganda, mischief, and falsehood designed by unscrupulously motivated individuals to tarnish the execution of the administration’s policies.

Defending the president’s track record, Matawalle asserted that President Tinubu remains a highly selfless leader who continuously keeps the ultimate interests of the masses at heart. He added that the federal government is systematically confronting massive national challenges inherited from past administrations—most notably economic turbulence and deep-rooted insecurity. Highlighting ongoing breakthroughs in the defense sector, the minister explained that the President has provided unprecedented support to the Nigerian Armed Forces and corresponding security agencies to tackle banditry, kidnapping, and terrorism, particularly across the heavily affected northern region.

Expressing visible disappointment that certain political actors are actively misguiding and weaponizing focused youths to spread political misinformation, Matawalle maintained that facts on the ground would speak for themselves. He concluded by noting that as laudable transformations across infrastructure, education, human capacity, and capital development manifest nationwide, citizens will easily identify the truth, ensuring the administration’s seamless political victory when the country returns to the polls in 2027.
