Lois Ihwo Congratulates Kingsley Awodi on Historic Para Powerlifting Election Victory

Sports advocate and stakeholder Lois Ihwo has extended her warm congratulations to renowned philanthropist and youth developer Kingsley James Awodi following his official inauguration as the new President of the Para Powerlifting Federation of Nigeria (PPFN). Awodi secured a unanimous and sweeping mandate at the federation’s elective congress held at the VIP Lounge of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, polling all 12 votes cast to return unopposed alongside Vice President Patrick Akutekwe (MON). In her congratulatory message, Lois Ihwo described Awodi’s emergence as a well-deserved reflection of his outstanding track record of providing financial, physical, and moral support to the national team and para-athletes over the years.

Expressing absolute confidence in his leadership capabilities, she lauded his newly unveiled agenda which focuses heavily on institutional reforms, athlete welfare upgrades, and deliberate grassroots talent identification to smoothly replace aging champions. Ihwo further commended the National Sports Commission (NSC), led by Mallam Shehu Dikko and Hon. Bukola Olopade, for creating a transparent and enabling environment that birthed the new board under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative for Nigeria Sports Economy (RHINSE) agenda, stating that Awodi’s inclusive leadership style is exactly what the federation needs to inject fresh talent and sustain Nigeria’s long-standing global dominance in international para-sports competitions.
